When you wait in the shadows, time has a way of slipping past your fingertips.
Lady luck condoles with
Father time, slipping
By without a footprint
In the sand; touching
Everything, but leaving
Not a mark.

Metal teeth gripping in;
Like the cogs of a Grandfather
Clock turning everlasting.

A firm grip, laced in white.
The beaches lapping at the
Earth. An hourglass of Gaia's Beauty.

Striking grace, and nimble, Father
Time erodes the strongest of Men.
No one shall escape his bony hand.

Rusting cogs coming to a grinding
Halt; Time setting like the
Crescent moon, to let the sun
Rise in the horizon.
