Hot Pursuit


The short legs churned, tiring now, but still propelling their owner along the sidewalk.  Four pursuers were directly behind, with more angling in from both sides.  Soon now.


Powerful legs drove them forward until, almost as one, the ants swarmed over the luckless caterpillar.  Dragging it back to the colony took most of the day.
