An ABC poem. Each line starts with a letter of the alphabet. It was written for my fiancé.
At long last I’ve found you
Before you I was alone
Confused and rejected
Depressed and morbid
Excitement filled my life with you
For you brought light to my world
Gave me a true reason to smile
Healed my broken heart and soul
Imagining you was never justified
June was the month in which I met you
Kindred soul and valued friendship
Love built slowly and has blossomed like a spring flower
My dreams are no longer unattainable
Now I know I can achieve
Only you had the power to reenergize my life
Putting up with me and my different opinions
Quiet days when we don’t talk
Remembrance of our earlier days
Sorrow no longer overwhelms me
Tell me now
Unorthodox as it seems
Valentine’s Day is soon
Will you forever be mine?
X-rays would find you imbedded in my heart
Year after year, day after day
Zealous is what you will always make me
