A little boy's mysterious experience on a wintry night .
It was a chilled, wintry night.I was lying snugly  amidst the warm blankets.Suddenly a faint whimper shook me all over. I readily threw away the blanket and sat upright on my cosy  bed, breathing heavily. Was is any evil spirit or a ghost or an elf? I wondered. The whimper was heard again....gosh! My heart started pacing faster...pearly sweat drops crowded my brow. But something deep inside me told,'Go ahead, brave little boy, go ahead....uncover the mystery.'
At once, I  decided to find the the source......I took a deep breath and got out of my bed. I hurriedly put on my hooded jacket n woolen socks....took the torch and tiptoed out of the house.I stepped out into the dark lane leaving my home behind.Too painful ....dear me...rather it was obnoxious....my torch didn't work! Cells were outdated.....I took a step, two, three.....perhaps ten or fifteen.......in the faintest moonbeam, I found a rug lying on the footpath. It was partly torn and tattered. I was dumbfounded for a moment......I froze with fear....an icy chill ran down my spine. I FOUND THE BLANKET MOOOOOOOVING!!!!!! I was on the verge of losing my consciousness...'A GHOST...AND THAT'S TOO JUST BEFORE MY TWO MORTAL EYES!'
Anyhow I congealed my melting courage and moved shivering towards the mystery-rug.Again I stopped for a second or two.....my courage bank was liquidated. From somewhere I gathered the  last trace of my courage and moved forward....I held my breath tight. At last my fiercely shaking palms could remove the old rug.  At that  very moment there was a magic ! A cute., little kitten, shivering in chill looked at me. The poor creature let out another whimper and  my heart melted . I readily decided to take my new buddy home. I gently picked it up and placed it in one of the large pockets of my jacket. It was going to be a part of my family.
