Visions of the future
The cathedral is gone.
Spires once proclaiming the glory of God
now lay besides the ruins
of what they built before us.

It is up to us now.
We shall redefine the future,
the unwritten page.
It is on our heads,
and our hands,
as we make our way through the rubble
and the artifacts
that we relied on only yesterday.

We have been set back a hundred years.
We survived this once before.
We are scared of the unknown,
of the change,
of where we find ourselves to be.

It will be hard.
We will have to relearn
all the skills we have lost,
to do without
that we once took for granted.

What will we do now,
as the world falls apart?
How will we get through?
Can we go back to a time,
once viewed so far away?

The change has begun.

Are you ready?
Am I?
Can anyone ever be?
