A journey of love, lost and how to recover from it
Love is the oxygen that keeps us alive;
Everytime it seems to fill us up
Only to leave us gasping for more

We think that the people we love
Shape our destinies, give us strengths
But in truth, they leave us cold and lonely

The bonds of faith and honesty
do not stick, and we are stuck
Sad, dark and depressed, we are like

A candle that cannot light the darkness
Laughter seems a sound too distant
A smile is just a mirage

But alone I walk this empty road
I realised the madness of my dreams.
Crazy me to think my life was simple

Life is not a journey of lovely roses
Obstacles, they come as prickly thorns
I thought I could crush them by my boots

But I let the ghastly ghosts of my past
Take over me, to neverland again
My finish line is truly never found

A pursuit that is ever elusive
For mistakes, they are made aplenty
With and without regret

Like baggages strewn on a walkway
They drag us down, they slow us down
And a victory seems like a flash in the pan

sudden, unlasting and look immaterial
I try to glimpse the road ahead
before the darkness descends.

A feeble voice that brushes its lips
whispers a message inside my mind
There are many others who run a similar race

Some are worse off; others just complain
A drop of gum is all it takes
to form a bond that might help us

To walk the clouds together, hand in hand
But our eyes are covered in mist
If we cherish the short intervals

Of those twists and turns on the bends,
And those short trips we spend with strangers,
There might just be the illumination we seek.

But if we stay in our murky ponds of suffocation
The only exercise left in our lives would be
To walk alone in the darkness.
