Rated: E · Poetry · Entertainment · #1904337
This rhyming poem looks at quality television and some of its perverse characteristics.
For some unlucky victim, a body bag comes,
Then for main characters, up go our thumbs.
The cruelest of minds, as the autopsy numbs,
Then forensics analysis, as technology hums.

Someone quite popular won’t likely get cut,
Singing or dancing or kicking some butt.
In a national contest, those visions do strut,
Vying for fame like some worthy King Tut.

Already famous, why suffer through that?
So gorgeous and lean or outrageously fat.
Others have sex lives like Felix the Cat –
Can anyone in history smell such a rat?

Real entertainment in national television
Is enduring much glory and pain with precision.
Talented hopes can’t survive such derision,
As technical artistry leads to decision.
