A poem originally written about the Vietnam War but it can be about any war I guess...
Dawn has broken.
Blood shed as the guns fired.
Sounds of agony and pain
         is all anyone could hear.
Man had turned against its own kind.
Ceded lives fueled war.
Flags became a reminder that a country still remained.
Peace.
That’s all anyone ever wanted.
Peace.
No one will ever get it.
How will this be remembered?
Will this ever be remembered?
We can only remember what we lost when we won.
