A poem I wrote for a Scifi Magazine.
If I listen close
I can hear the tick-tock
The clock inside me
And I know
I am machine

Designed obsolescence
In the program eternal
I can feel the count
The hours on the meter
I am machine

Even with parts interchangeable
Functions reconfigurable
Memory rewritable
Limited to one life cycle
I am machine

I know my heart
Does more than just beat
I fear and I feel
But in the end
I am machine
