An attempt at Haiku's each day beginning 2013 |
This is a well-intentioned beginning to what I hope will be a haiku a day, or thereabouts. |
shadows dissect all gorges and canyons alike first light of morning |
turquoise water laps gray lava holds onto trees coconut falls down |
The blinds are drawn closed suitcases standing alone time to get packing |
Crystal cathedral Sparkling stars shining brightly Or are they winking? |
middle of winter blues means the sky is clear of rain the temperatures rise |
pink moment mountains reflecting the setting sun day is nearly done |
warm weather beckons the call of islands so far we leave on Monday |
frost clings to the hay newborn calves look for mama warm milk for breakfast |
burnt leaves turn upward frost bitten faces turn down bitter cold winds whip |
pearls of water fall from a coverlet of gray making skies misty |
fake thunder last night awakens the sleeping world Atlas missile launch |
Venus dangling left fingernail moon hanging low Christmas in the sky |
Biting cold breezes snaking in and around doors animals snuggle |
deep breathing cold air two deer bounding out of sight soon there will be frost |
Green leaves rustling Santa Ana winds disturb Feeling like summer |
counting down the days until winter solstice dies and days grow longer |
Let sleeping dogs lie The deer will go on grazing All is quiet now |
Black Friday is grey Color of money is green People's moods are blue |
Happy Thanksgiving Marshmallow clouds on yam hills Traditions go on |
birds pecking at dirt moles give rise to inner soil there is no way out |
