I just don't understand, my family wants me to settle down, but I am almost only 120...
I just don't understand. This farmhouse is mine! I built it in 1920 when I was 27 years old. I raised my daughter and two sons here. They were all moved out by the 1940's, but something happened in 1980 and my daughter moved in for a little while, rummaging through the place like I didn't exist. Soon after she left and my grand-son, Marcus, moved in. He was 25 then. We spent a lot of time together, so, I just don't understand.

Now, in 2013, I am almost 120 years old, my grand son is 58, had my three great-grandchildren, Ella, Rose, and Marty. Marty is still living with us. He is 14 years old. Ella and Rose moved out, went to college and, I hear, they live just down the road at the McCafrety Farm, something about it is now a college sorority house.

Well, just yesterday, I guess, Marty and I were playing and my son, Marcus, came in and yelled at the two of us. All I was doing was chasing Marty around the house, I guess running around the house and jumping on furniture while I pursued him was too much for Marcus. He threatened to call his mom, my beloved daughter, Georgia, and his uncles, my two sons, Russel and Martin, the latter of course Marcus was really close to, this is where Marty got his name. He walked out of the room with Marty under his arm and closed the door.

Later that week, sure enough, all my children were there. It was some kind of intervention. They called me downstairs, they were sitting around the great table with some stranger, I guess this was the interventionist. They were telling me I had to leave the house or act my age, because my activity was too much to handle. Which, I can understand, Marcus runs his business out of the house, so I guess Marty and me running around is bothersome to him, especially when we run through his office, via the family room and out the other door into the Master Bedroom and back out to the family room.

But to leave if I don't settle down, I just don't understand. And, what they don't understand is I am almost only 120 years old, this is counting from the day I was born to this world. In actuality, I am only 30 some years old in ghost years, but whose counting...
