Fools we are when we say our goodbyes.
                   "Fools We Are"

Moonsense and West Kentucky moonshine
Lunar games and promises you are mine
Stars play on my shoulder and twinkle in your eyes
Fools we are when we say our goodbyes

Nonsense on Kentucky Lake; fun and fool's gold
Silly memories imprinted, as we grow old
Laughter is good medicine for the lonely heart
Fools we are when we eventually part

Merrymaking; crazy moments become our dances
Swing'n, sway'n, and wish'n for more chances
Giggles on our lips and gaiety is our love song
Fools we are when we say we don't belong

Lovemaking; frolicking on Nature's pallet
All the romance is ours, as we would shout it
Firelight glow and your face so very handsome
Fools we are when we traded love for a king's ransom
