grandma's garden
Ringing

My grandma’s garden was a special place you know

A bench for me and her to watch the flowers grow

All the pretty colors would bring on special stories too

Some come to mind when I am spending time with you

She would make the stories come to life without much effort

And I was very eager to take them all without much merit

Only good stories came from her; with a twinkle in her eye

She knew one day she and I would have to say good bye

I was with my special friend and didn’t know that then

Colors were dimming for her and  fingers were very thin

I remember one story that brings her back to me frequently

She had some blue bells growing in her garden for eternity

She promised they would always grow when she was gone away

She said the fairies would carry my messages to her every day

She said the fairies would have a special fairie convention

And ring the blue bells to notify them  to come to attention

Even today I see those blue bells in her garden dreaming

On our bench I hear those fairie convention bells ringing
