This is a very intense poem about my life 24/7 with a horrible eating disorder.
E.D. and Me

In the silence and stillness of the night,

A girl is trying to get up, and fight

Against that voice that tortures her so!!

It laughs at her as it comes and goes,

Leaving her filled with pain and fear.

To tell others of what they don't hear,

Would be to her, like a taste of death!

They'd denounce her, so she takes an oath

To never speak her mind, and in doing that,

Nobody will know that she feels so fat.

They'll never find out that she's so sad,

And all this over some "be thin to win" fad.

She'll keep to herself, and never reveal

Her sorrow that only smiles can conceal.
