A piece of brief inspiration.

I watch as words of your last beloved slash right through you
My arms wrap around you tightly
Trying to hold on to your fallen form as
you come apart at the seams
Time stands still as the wet flush stains your cheeks
                                                                               permanently it seems

Let go of yourself
Of all the sorrow….of the pain
I will hold you and caress
The ache that makes you feel so desolate.

My heart strains painful beats
As I listen numbly for your screams
Your nightmares hold me captive within your hands reach

I am struck by the lashings of your grief
As you let you misery swallow you piece by agonizing piece
Bleeding yourself dry of despair
Dragging me with you as you keep drowning yourself in this purgatory

I take every affliction and keep my own torment silent
I hold on to the knowledge that one day you will see me
One day you will find me
Because I have stood beside you as I always have done
Picking up your pieces and keeping you whole
