A legend grows
The Jewels of Father Serra

A legend grew from this special place

That modern city life can not replace

We honor this place and show respect

Constant care is given to avoid neglect

Serving the faithful for hundreds of years

The building is old and has  few repairs

The bell was replaced several years ago

It still rings each Sunday for all to know

March 19th is when they find their way

The swallows return there even today

Under church eaves they end their quest

They come back again to tend their nests

The insects always are their food supply

Gathering them from two rivers near by

They will always return these marvels of love

They descend from the springtime clouds above
