A poem describing the singularity of man's existence.
AFTER LOVE EVERY ANIMAL
IS SAD

The flames of Hades my blood does boil
As I firmly caress her breasts.
And the wind seems as Venus whispering promises
As my manhood she doth test.

Ethereal lights and vibrant flesh
Our senses are flooded beyond all reason.
Her redolent perfume, her siren’s wails
Demands my body’s treason.

Her legs, the gates of paradise opening.
No man could have refused to enter.
So I offered her my sword of life
Piercing her to her very center.

But all too soon
The reward is both reaped and lost.
And we learn that for each pleasure
There must be an equal cost.

How could the gods be so cruel ?
Why whence the gift is done
Are we found in this vast universe
Again an Island, separate, one.

Please never again surrender to me your velvet chamber.
Nor let me give to you my turgid lance.
For I can not bear the emptiness that follows
That beautiful, most fulfilling dance.
