Confliction between changing and staying the same
Change

After suffering from her consistent absence
I find myself once again at her feet.
For the first time I have no desire to seek
Staring into her crying eyes I am senseless

Offering my comforting embrace
Not expecting much to learn
Not feeling anything else in return
Just the need for her to know she is safe.

Beckoning her to follow
Assuring her the world
Our fingers together curled
I stand strong but indifferent.
Though my chest entirely hollow
I find it still easy to listen.
