A simple peom about a walk through Christianity.
Black was my vision
Forever, void and dark
Blinded my dark eyes,
Bound my sad heart
Then light, oh light!
Purple mine view
Settled my once dark eyes
A light-giving, dew

Then yellow my vision
Light, bright and filled
Eyes opened wide
Heart of great thrill.
Joy and laughter
Smiles so gay,
Yellow mine eyes
For so many days

Then grey turned mine vision
Unsure and untried,
Grey was the color
That lurked in mine eyes
Then red burst upon,
The landscape so dull
And red was the color
That I dyed them all

Blue was the color
That lay with the red,
Blue, sad and heavy
Weighted my head,
Red filled my heart
Festered, a wound
Then green filled my being
That day to rue.

Green was the sister
Green was the friend
Green was the color
With which I saw them.
Green wore the model
Green was my fate
And from that Green grew
A dark-dyed hate.

But no longer black
Could mine eyes be
For they had seen the light.
But dyed with color
My eyes had been
So never be pure white.
Grey and Blue and Red
Green and Purple too,
Such were the colors that dyed mine eyes
Though never you’d have a clue

Lost was I and greatly feared
For what now could I see?
Too many colors dyed mine eyes
So that blind, I be,
But then dyed me new color;
A color I never did dream,
Dyed me in a red of blood
And washed mine eyes to see.
Red washed all the colors away
Red washed them white as snow
And white filled not just mine eyes
But filled me as a whole.

Sometimes the colors still dye me
Sometimes it is through them I see
But if ever you looked upon my soul
Pure white I would be.
