A poem about losing your identity.
This so-called monster is a threat to me,
Making me forget my dreams indefinitely.
It makes my common knowledge go away,
Gives me amnesia throughout the day.

This particular monster is one of a kind,
It has all the tactics to control my mind.
Leading me in the wrong direction,
Killing me like a drug injection.

Deep in the dark when I go to sleep,
It watches me as it seeps.
Into my veins and in my mind,
Somewhere, somehow we became intertwined.

I will never forget what it’s done to me,
Slurring my words as I decree.
That I need release the words won’t escape,
The words I utter will evaporate.

To tiny little pieces who I am just shattered,
I thought I was special but it really doesn't matter.
So do not be conformed to this world it will lead you astray,
Be yourself today, tomorrow, and yesterday.
