Why do children spin? I used to because I liked the recovery.
My life, my world, my reality, turning as a top
The sky blurring with clouds both white and gray
The sun streaking into a circle as the landscape spins around me faster and faster
I fall
The ground squirms beneath my back as I recover
My eyes dart side to side with drunken curiosity
It feels as though my very brain is still swirling beneath my skull
I clamber to my feet on unsteady legs, grass stains on my knees
Laughter swells within me as I begin to pinwheel once more
