If love is a many splendored thing,
Why is there so much despair?
My fragmented heart cries out for you,
But, you are no longer there.
The desolation surrounds my soul
Enveloping my whole life,
But love calls my heart to be set free
From the deep, dark, callous strife.
And if my heart shall be unconfined
From the torment of my hell…
I will say a prayer to God above
For my soul was saved before death’s last knell.

I ask my heart to not fear lonely,
Despite what the world will say.
I wait with baited breath, for you love,
Only you…both night and day.
Dismay gives way to so much anguish,
My heart’s drowning from the tears.
I need you, oh, how I need you love…
Save me from my wretched fears.
I stand alone in a world of love,
Left to my own sad device.
I search through fragments for loves last remains,
But nothing’s found ‘cept for loves ransom price.
