A poem about love.
Logic does not reign over the heart.
When I see you walk away,
and this time you will not come back,
I still can yearn for you.
I know this should not be true,
yet none can stop.

He is sunlight,
but also a fearsome storm.
He is a torrent of rain,
yet also the rainbow when it ends.
He can set my heart on fire,
and also turn my blood to ice.

I try to fight,
he is within my sight...
yet always just out of reach.

Telling myself you need to leave,
does nothing to quell the pain.

You are the greatest thing I have ever known.
Love is merely a word that is thrown,
so uselessly it floats from a person's lips.
You are far more than love,
you are my life,
you are my light,
you are grand creation.

I feel the lights go out around me as you fade away.
I long to call your name,
but I bite my tongue.

One look over your shoulder,
you smile,
I smile back.

"This is not the last you will see of me."
It tells me.
"I know, yet we will never be the same."
Mine says back.
