George & Roufus start as friends then lovers, watch their story reveal itself.
Divine Intervention Chapter 1

    George Kayle, was very skinny and had light brown hair and green eyes. He was in very good shape with a 5'6 frame, he was a part of the track team. He came from a very disturbing home. His parents were always fighting.

    Roufus Harper, was muscular and had dark brown hair and hazel eyes. He too was in very good shape for his 5'9 frame and his arms were very toned and it looked like he lifted weights all the time, he too was a part of the track team at school and the weight lifting team as well. Roufus came from a very good and peaceful home.
 
  Roufus's family had just moved into the area in the summer of 1942. George was the first kid he had seen and met.  They hit it off right away as friends, they would always spend so much time together that it would be dark by the time either of them went home. They would ride their bikes together and sometimes George would stay at Roufus's house because of the arguments his parents had. One time in particular George's parents were arguing so bad they locked George out of the house. Luckily for him he had Roufus as a friend and Roufus had asked his parents if it was okay for George to stay over. His parents didn't mind and they liked George as well.     
    Whenever Roufus's mother would bake cookies, she would always set some cookies aside for George and tell Roufus to stay out of George's cookies. It was a joke of course because Roufus knew that his mother meant well by making sure George got some cookies.
    Everywhere George and Roufus went, they usually were spotted together. They were making their way all over the town on their bikes.
    When school finally started, George and Roufus rode their bikes early to school so George could show Roufus around the campus of "Liberty High" and also so they could get their class schedules. This way they could map out where their classes were before they began.
    It was a very big school made of granite and brick. The gym, housed a swimming pool under the basketball floor. There was a separate area where they did weight lifting, they had all kinds of weight lifting machines and gadgets.  They had an ornate theater with old fashioned velvet cushioned seats and a sculptured ceiling. The cafeteria wasn't all that special but the library was breath taking, the ceiling had thick panes of glass that allowed the sun to filter in and all the book shelves were done in dark brown oak, there were stain glass above the windows that let in the sweet air of the lilac trees that were just below the windows edge. The music department had a big grand piano in the center of the room and the seating where the pupils would play their instruments looked like an orchestra pit. George said the reason the grand piano had been in the center of the room is because the music teacher used to be a famous pianist. All the classrooms had a black board on both sides the light fixtures were a brass ornamental design with white glass in the middle.
    Roufus was astounded by the way the school had looked, to him it was a piece of art. George took pride in his school and really enjoyed the architecture the school had in different areas that he had shown Roufus. The building its self was very ornate and in the center of the roof stood a clock tower and every hour the bell would chime according to the hour.  Not only to let kids know that class was over but also to let people know the time.
    Some of the kids spotted Roufus as the new kid and would call him over, but George protecting his friend, told him that he shouldn't go near certain kids because they were only trouble. Roufus would heed to George's warning and appreciated that George was looking out for him.
