a poem about political tensions
In every debate we fight and we yell
The right one is the one who yells the loudest
Watch this damn divide swell
No consideration for which is the solidest

Stop talking and be quite
Long enough to hear what they say
Half the time you’re in a different fight
How did we acquire such a stupid way

Extreme measure and disconnect
Should be a last resort not a first
We should not let this behavior go unchecked
Our politics need to be reversed

Doing things this way doesn’t do any good
Let try to open our opponent’s eyes
Maybe then our reasons could be understood
It’s at least worth a try

If we can’t have civil debates
Our leaders will not grow
And it will cost all the states,
It is not too late though
