The last place they'll ever live...
Alone in a room,
essentially forgotten.
Invisible beings
rely on compassionate strangers
for brief moments
of warmth and connection,
lest we slip free
into cutting loneliness
and welcome death.
Forgotten.
We are but fleeting thoughts
Never again to be sought after
or truly loved.
Mere memories.
We may be forgotten, friends,
but we have not.
