accepting death and everlasting love
I have to hand it over
and not hold it to my breast
Hope you see, I cannot be
the taker for your test

I’m shocked at your sure asking
but didn’t have a clue
I cannot see, if it will be
since I really never knew

I know that when you’ve tried before
I’d turn the other way
There’s something in your subtle tone
with nothing left to say

Soon I’ll have to take it
keep it by my side
You know I see, it cannot be
a simple thing of pride

They say it comes fast and quick
like the ink inside my pen
My loss comes down as cryptic
but nothing like a win

Must have built a wall of hope
it’s just too much to bear
I never dreamed I’d see the day
when all so many cared

Always thought you'd be here
standing by my side
But feel that we’ve gone overboard
bonding with the tide

Guess I’ll have to take it
they say it all is true
I will hold it to my breast
before I'm missing you

Perhaps it's time to go now
hope to not be sad and blue
My love is all I have to give
then I’ll be missing you

I want to hand it over
and give my present back
It’s in the way, my sunny days
are turning into black

I know that night comes soon enough
my light is growing dim
Though I wonder why it’s me
my praise is all for Him

For now your wings are taken
it wasn’t planned that way
A lover's flight forsaken
there’s little I can say
But I’ll wait for you, what can I do
until you come my way
