What is real? What is imaginary? What is truth? What is the difference?
REALITY

We like to speak of what is real

We hold this truth intact

But then we know that what we feel

Remains with us; we can’t conceal

That feelings pose as fact

We tell ourselves that truth is right

This is our human prize

But sometimes truth will shed no light

Falsehoods appear without a fight

We justify the lies.

Our lives become a fine pretence

Perfection’s but a dream

We struggle daily to make sense

Or find a suitable defence

Of things not what they seem.

To find today and not look back

And sanctify the past

A future broken on the rack

Hope shall remain when all turns black

And nothing seems to last.

But seek the light and seek to find

Those things we hold most dear

And we can leave the past behind

With knowledge of a special kind

That love will conquer fear
