In my youth, westerns
When I was a youngster,
On Saturday you’d find me,
Lost in my make believe
Watching westerns on TV

There was Roy, Dale and Pat
With Bullet always close by
Gene and “Frog” would come soon
Bringing fear to any bad guy

Champion and Trigger
Like silk, manes and tails flowing
Running down the outlaws
Galloping fast as lightning

Then Cisco and Pancho,
Hopalong and Monte Hale,
Lone Ranger and Tonto,
Riding down the TV trail.

With a brace of cap guns
And one of dad’s old handkerchiefs
I rode with all of them
My horse first to catch the thiefs.

Our guns shot forever
And our aim was always true.
We always won the fight
Keeping the West safe for you.

No more TV westerns
Those cowboys are no more
In my mind those trails I ride
Those memories to restore
