So this is a poem that was originally a sort of summary for a book, what do you think?
Rushing through the midnight trees
In the moonlight nothing's as it seems
Trying not to rustle the leaves
The tell-tale signs of the guilty

Didn't mean for you to end up like this
No, why did I have to make you leave
With every little twig that breaks
With every noise the forest makes
It makes me shiver, start to shake
But it's a risk I'll have to take

Dragging over every bump and crack
What's inside that burlap sack
Terrified of leaving tracks
I wish that I could take it all back

How the hell did you end up like this?
No, I'm sorry for all you're going to miss
With every little twig that breaks
With every noise the forest makes
It makes me shiver, start to shake
But it's a risk I'll have to take

The sky opens up overhead
The rain pours down over my head
Obliterating the life I led
Now to get rid of you is all that's left

But now that you've ended up like this
I'll take you with me into the abyss
With every little twig that breaks
With every noise the forest makes
It makes me shiver, start to shake
But it's a risk I'll have to take
