A Bride Takes matters into her own hands.
A beautiful keepsake. That’s what Pierce said that he was giving to me when he broke off our engagement 5 minutes before the wedding.

What a load of bullshit! I found out that he had been sleeping with my alleged best friend since I had introduced them. It wasn’t a surprise; Stacey always wanted a man that was taken. Now they were both going to pay the price for my humiliation.

Imagine having to tell a church full of people that your betrothed, the person that you were set to give the rest of your life to, decided that he didn’t want to get married after all. If only I could turn back time and avoid meeting the bastard altogether. Of course there was no way that I could go back in time. No, there was no point in that now. I had a plan; there was something that I needed to do.

When I told the congregation that I had been left at the altar, it turned into a feeding frenzy with the old ladies. They all thought it was so sad, that I was some sort of tragic figure. What would they say if they could see me holding a gun? I’m sure their shrill voices would tell me to think things through, that it wasn’t wise to do what I was about to do. Screw them. I knew what I had to do, and I did it.

Pierce had taken Stacey on our honeymoon, how sick was that? I mean it was bad enough that the bitch had helped herself to my fiancé time and again, but for her to agree to go on my honeymoon was beyond reprehensible. As I told my mother, Stacey was going to get what was coming to her. Of course I’m not oblivious that Pierce played his part in this too, but I had a special plan for him. He was going to regret the day that he ever treated me so horribly, and decided to spread his seed around to anyone willing to open their legs. I checked into a hotel room. There was no sleep to be had but I felt it was better to try and sleep at night, pretend to rest. For who, I had no idea. Maybe it was for my own sanity, to prove to myself that I hadn’t completely gone off the rails. The alarm clock read that it was just after 4 in the morning. Soon I would be hitting the road again, revenge wouldn’t take itself you know.

When I got back on the road, there was a driver who cut in front of me. After he did that, he thought that it was OK to drive 45 miles per hour. I thought it was OK to shoot out his tires, and watch as he veered his car into a ditch. Maybe I should have talked to a shrink like my mom told me to but it was much too late to do the right thing. Pierce and Stacey hadn’t worried about taking the high road, why should I?

Time slipped away from me, and before I realized it, I had driven all the way to Florida. A smile played on my lips as I drew closer to the beach where the home wrecker and the man she thought was more important than a friendship. It was her loss; soon it would be both of their losses. Neither of them would see it coming, they had no idea how angry I was at them.

When Pierce chose the hotel for what would have been our honeymoon, he made sure that it was the most expensive and had the best view. He had actually surprised me with it, just after he proposed to me. He said that it was important to start the marriage right, and that a hotel that was mediocre would not do.

His car was parked in front of the hotel, a part of me wanted to shoot out his tires but I thought better of it. If the other guests in the hotel heard more than one set of shots fired, they would call the police and everything would be ruined. I couldn’t have that, I wouldn’t have that.

I walked up to the door and could hear the adulterous duo were moaning and groaning up a storm. There was a certain justice that would be derived from doing what I was about to do while they were having sex. In a way it seemed like poetic justice. In a very real way, Pierce was going to learn what it felt like when he broke up with me to be with my best friend.

My foot lifted off the ground and connected with the door. It opened without a problem, the scene inside was exactly what I expected. Stacey was on top of Pierce, facing away from him. Just like Pierce liked, he hated doing any work and loved anything that made him feel like a porn star.

I lifted the gun and fired a shot before either of them could say anything. The bullet tore through Stacey and she fell onto the bed. Pierce began screaming like a girl, which made me lift the gun at him. This was not part of the plan but if I had to kill the cheating son of a bitch I would. He dove off the bed and hurled himself at me.

We struggled with the gun for a few minutes, before it went off again. This time the bullet went through my body, my blood pooled onto the fabric of my wedding dress. Looking down from above, I smiled. My corpse was prettier than average.

As I expected the cops showed up and arrested Pierce within minutes. He was charged with two counts of First Degree Murder. Because his fingerprints were on the gun and he was the only alive, he was convicted.

I was able to rest in peace.
