Remembering Christmases past, written for Marti's Christmas contest
CHRISTMAS CHEER

I love Chritmas, with trimmings so bright
and decorating the house is sure a delight.
Garland and mistletoe, I'm awaiting a kiss,
The tree lights are all on, it is perfect bliss.

A snowman outisde with tophat and mittens
stands guard with a smile as our two kittens
look out the window and wonder at the fuss,
it means nothing to them, its's all about us!

The family is on the way home for our dinner,
Gram's mincemeat pie is always a winner!
The chatter and laughter will soon be heard
and Grandpa will once again carve the bird.

We will gather in the living room, by the tree,
and we will recall a past Christmas memory.
Presents placed with care bring anticipation,
Opening them up will bring us pure elation.

Letters to Santa were mailed, children wait,
knowing that Santa would not be coming late.
Yes, I love Christmas and all Christmas cheer,
I'm looking forward to having my family here.

Christmas wishes and Good Cheer to all!
