Coming to terms with myself
John or Johnna

I speak to myself:
do I listen?
And looking inside,
do I see?
When I know what I am
do I need to know why?

Thus:
my breasts are symbols
of the freedom to be,
of the sharing with you
of me.

When I am afraid,
you make me safe.

I have no alter ego,
no other self
or hidden half:
Behind my hazel eyes
it's me.
To myself I am neither Jon
nor Jonna:
not male, female,
or both,
Just me.
