A text to the woman I met and fell in love with on new year's eve in New York.
Once upon a time..*Smile*

In the land of the mighty... an englishman is on his travels..

this journeyman strolls through forests and across fields, traverses rugged terrains, he crosses waters and even travels where only birds do. Through wind and rain, in storms and blue skies. He never travels alone. His constant companion is the boy he once was and his guide is the man he will become. On his journeys he may sing or whistle his way, along his path, or he will will walk amongst his tears. He follows the path of his destiny, at times knowing his destination, at other times he walks blindly seeking his direction without guidance be it from the sun or the stars.

One day he took to the skies and arrived in a formidable jungle where the sky had little space and into which the sun could not see. He wondered why he had come here, so much darkness, so much vibrancy and energy, excitement, bustling and hectic... but he knew that he had reason for being in this place...

He was not a seeking man and yet he sought. He had spent many of his journeys seeking and had learnt that all that was to be found was his journey itself and so this is what he had come to accept. Journey his journey, wondering only in the retreats of his mind if there was indeed something to be found, something to give his journey more purpose...

Two long days he grappled his way through the great forest and it’s thickets, thorns, it’s mighty trees and amongst all it's inhabitants.. at times it was so gloomy that he needed a torch to shine his way...

On the third day nighttime had fallen and the darkness controlled the forest. He walked amongst this as always he had done, carefully and respectfully, caring not to become a victim of it's utter lightlessness and maybe fall. He needed to see with his feet, his inner balance keeping him upright and safe. Experience had taught him never to fall, each step he took with caution as he had learned to do over the years.

As he walked this place the blackness suddenly became grey. Ever so slightly small particles of light gathered through which after a few steps more allowed him to see his feet and the undersurface on which they were treading. He became confused and stopped in his tracks. This should not be. He realised that he could now make out the form of the forest, almost as he could by day. He waited momentarily, looked around and amongst himself before taking another step. It was then that he realised that if he were to walk forward he would be surrounded by light. He took this step. He knew there must be a source and he felt the need to find it because this light drew him towards it.

The light became brighter, so much so that he was able to run seeing all around himself. It was the light of day, and much more.

He ran onwards striving to reach his goal and upon approaching it’s source he stopped. Standing there in awe, breathless and breathing heavily, his eyes affixed on what description cannot describe, a beauty nothing could ever surpass, a light so pure in it's colour and brightness, a light so warm and comforting, a light so powerful and charming.

He stood there in this moment and allowed it's rays to shine upon him and he felt the warmth coursing through his body, through the veins in which normally only his life's blood would pass.

And in that instant he knew that he wanted to stay in this light forever.

Alas, he knows this pleasure was not his to decide alone.

He allowed himself to bathe himself within her rays for some time, soaking up everything he could in his whole being, before taking the the first steps back into the dark forest, knowing that his wish to share his life and his journies with this most beautiful of lights would mean that either she would have either to call or follow him.

On he journies!!!

My woman I name this light Denise..
