Thank you to someone
Listen

I was left alone while my mother worked
I was told never to open the front door
Since I was only 5 I didn't understand

There came a knock at the door and I opened it
A scary man came in and threw me around
I held on to my doll with the pretty blue dress

I closed my eyes tight cause he was hurting me
He threatened my mother and said not to tell
He came back again time after time after time

I saw him on the playground during a parade
I tried to tell my teacher but she didn't care
The teacher jerked me and made me start to walk

Then a different knock came on the front door
I found a lady with blond hair and a pony tail
That was a police woman named Julie

She let me keep my doll and they took me away
If it hadn't been for Julie and her kind heart
She hugged me like I never been hugged before

I felt safe for the first time in so very long
My little doll in the blue dress was safe too
God bless you Julie where ever you are
