The Right Word



Words can crush you, at times they can heal,
Some words can land you a heck of a deal.
Often a word can inspire you to act.
It's words that are used to convey every fact.

Use the right word, and you'll land a fine job.
A word that is poor makes you sound like a slob.
There are words that can slice you clear down to the bone,
They can shred off your skin, each malevolent tone.

Words can be graceful, can roll off your tongue,
They're often remembered as songs that were sung.
Words can stop wars in the right combination,
Bring peace to the world, every town, every Nation.

Words that are twisted can make you confused,
Others may harm, leave you hurt or abused.
Some words can smite, like the blade of a sword,
At least that's the message we've heard from the Lord.

Your mouth is a weapon so think if you can,
Make sure that your dialog comes with a plan.
Don't just blurt out every thought in your head,
Zip up your lip, think about them instead.
