5 Golden Rings

That was sure one hectic day. I felt her pain. Getting a house ready for holiday and guests is very stressful, plus four children and a husband that is temporarily unavailable.

There were many details here, and I especially chuckled at the second paragraph where she is doing mommy duty with Jenny and must pick up the fallen ring with her toe. Been there.

And there is always one child that needs constant attention. You described Jamie Lynn throughout as the constant interruption she was. Well done.

Short story writing is an art form and you certainly provided all the information in a short piece, clearly providing a vivid picture of the goings on within the home. The inclusion of the dog was icing on the cake.

I liked the method of discovering the rings, although I wasn't sure what two of them may have looked like, but that is not crucial to the story.

The dialogue was very natural, as were the mother's inner thoughts.

Although smell wasn't mentioned, I gathered that from the cookies being baked.

The ability to carve out some quiet time was perfect and a bit of inspirational reading was a good point for winding down the story. The note was awesome and included the ring with the addition of using (5) again with the five diamonds in the ring. Nice touch.

The story came full circle.

The only bit that may be extraneous is in the note a reference to 'candy cane' meaning the letter J. It took me a moment to get the meaning. But that's just me.
