the thoughts rushing through my mind as i leave for college

Turning  back,
I took a last glance
of the place the where I grew up,
made memories, moulded myself
where I loved and was loved..

An end to the years of toghethernes
Stepping into the ruthless world,
away from my comfort zone;
away from the pamperings and love.

Leaving behind a bundle of memories;
the scribbling on the walls,
the hiding inside the cupboard,
sneaking food into my room,
watching  TV at odd hours,
eternally etched in my heart these are.

The walls still  echo the cries and laughter,
toys lying abandoned in a corner,
The pillow fights, the hugs, the laughter, the scratching,
the pinching,the  annoying, the playing tag,
the washing dishes, doing chores,
a wave of nostalgia washes over me..

I let go of her finger and wave feebly,
tear swells up in my eyes
..and hers..
