When you don't know what to do.
Directionless;
we're scared to lift a foot
and make decision
to go left or right.

If we stand still
and do not blink
the pain will
stop.

Standing still
the pain is dull
but something catches
our eye and that
opens the gateway.

We cannot fight it anymore
as images begin to pour
of the fast paced world
of business and commerce.

We need the grades
to succeed
we need to spend
our hard earned wages
on electronics, a new car,
an overpriced house without
a garden, without a pet,
without a community,
and without a neighbour
to be met.

Standing still
like we're in
society's cages.
Directionless
we do not know where to
go.

We cannot stop someone
else and ask for help
as they will turn around
and say:
'go to work for long hours,
get some pay,
and get laid,
then by the time your forty-five
you'll be comfortable in
your own home
and will not want
to venture out your dome.'

Restless,
directionless,
our thoughts exhaust us,
we stand still
directionless
and there is no hope
for us as we fumble through
scared of what we may become
and completely thoughtless
of what can be done
to change our sense
of directionless.
