A short poem on passed opportunities.
I Passed You Tonight, a poem of mine from a couple years ago

I saw you tonight,

as I passed by.

Wondered if that role would always be mine,

Both tonight and in your life,

Not but a passerby.

At first I was surprised to see your face,

Your smile, your eyes, your carefree gaze.

It made me think of our friendly days,

That we ever met, I'm truly amazed.

I knew that you loved me,

And damnit I loved you more.

Yet I was too young,

I feel I'll never be yours.

So a friend we've both lost,

Your choice it was not.

And I can't come back now,

take back what I've sought.

I saw you tonight, and I didn't stop.
