A poem about writing poetry.
A twist of lime, a dash of salt,
Upon this late, Patron assault,
I've penned a poem like I dreamed,
Because today, I've truly screamed.

Rampant heartaches and hurt feelings,
In all my work and daily dealings.
Writing something helped ease stress,
Poetic strokes amid duress!

So often heroes, children, pets,
Succumb to fate's amoral bets.
So how a poet duly strives
To celebrate these honored lives.

But within this natural cause,
Are some who seek some real applause;
The shadow of their youth, God bless!
Upon this poem's back, no less.

But other times, a tribute due,
To family, friends, and lovers who,
Offer guidance, remedies,
To set a poet's mind at ease.
