Stupid poem about stuff
I slice myself open
Showing you everything inside
Hanging my flayed thoughts and feelings
On the walls for only you to see.
I dig deeper, breaking bones
That get in the way of me
Pulling out my core so I can
Peel back the layers of
Bravado and arrogance
And pull back my curtain of
Depression and self-loathing.
So I can show you who I am.
So I can show you what I am.
What I am beneath the surface.
And when you see it,
Despite all that you promised,
You turn around and walk out.
And I’m left needing to pick up my pieces.
