This poem speaks of loneliness of coming home to silence after loss..we go on

WHISPERS

She falls to her knees overwhelmed by pain and exhaustion

Going blind from confusion feeling lost and alone

Each day she waits for the whisper she's longing to hear

Where is the whisper that welcomes her home

Angry from pain no direction to turn

Her hand reaches out grasping dead air

She will hide with her whispers to be safe forever

From being hurt once again or needing medical repair

She tries hard to speak, but words die on her lips

She tries to sound warm, but sounds cold

Whispers won't leave there is no peace of mind

Whatever she finds she can't seem to hold

Always keeping a distance yet longing for closeness

Hoping for trust complete in her mind

Whispers get louder for whoever you are

She seeks something she's never been able to find

So solitude becomes her constant companion

She finds safety enough to explore

Whispers grow quiet need becomes less

She finds comfort inside her closed door......
