Judge and Jury by James Patterson

James Patterson writes mystery stories that are involved with many elements of crime. One quote in this story that means a lot is: the judge asks, "Madame foreperson have you reached a verdict? Yes, your Honor we have."

A gangster boss faces trial for his crimes.  The resulting story moves from New York City to the Andes Mountains and back. h

An FBI agent becomes a witness to the crimes and takes it personally.  Many characters are involved.  People are injured, blackmailed, lost and found.  An Israel citizen becomes involved.

The story has a hero and a heroine.  Their extreme commitment make you wonder if they will survive.

Patterson writes mysteries that take the reader to the edge.  It makes you wonder what you would do if the circumstances were in your own life.

At one point in the story Mick asks, "Is it finished now?" The story has a definite ending.
