A third entry for Lexi's Poetry Contest using one of her prompt
SPEAK NO MORE

Speak no more of the old forgotten ways
that made a difference in my younger days.
Let the past be gone, I shall no longer grieve.
He left me behind, I tried hard to not believe.

Emotions came through, like a mighty blaze,
Speak no more of the old forgotten ways.
My mind wanders, I cannot understand
why now I have to meet my life's demand.

The paths I traveled were mine alone to tread.
I regret the promises made when we were wed.
Speak no more of the old forgotten ways
Listen no more to the music as it plays.

Sad songs are best if you want to feel pain,
For the one who left, only memories remain.
Look to the life that lies ahead, it will amaze!
Speak no more of the old forgotten ways.
