Even if we lose the object, the things we felt live inside of us
You can keep them,
the old family gem,
keep the poem in your heart,
keep it and get a new start.

Remember how the things went,
and recall the event,
but don't let them trap you in their stories
for they will try to lock you and toss the keys.

Things try to become keepsakes,
things that try to stay for their own sake,
remember, you only need the memory,
the object can be lost,
but the one thing that prevails is the memory.

Some things become keepsakes, the ring of the promise
the ring that was a memory of a love that seemed ageless,
even if it gets lost, the memory of the love will remain
because it made you feel things.

Things that brought entertainment in a life that seemed to be in gray,
the memory of those times shall always remain and the feelings too,
you don't need the object cause the memory and the feelings remain
and those can't be lost, for they live inside of us,
and as long as we breath, those feelings and memories remain inside.
