The death of a man corrupted by power.
"Why do you still fight so desperately? Can't you feel your own defeat? It's over, I won, I always win." Riven glared defiantly at the group
It was far too late for them to stop him now, his power had been growing, and it would keep growing. No one in this room had the strength to
stop him anymore. Victorious Riven looked up to let out his call of victory, his demeaning, and maniacal laugh that would put these fools into
their places. I looked up and opened his mouth to let out his laugh, but it never came. Something interrupted him, something stopped him,
something surprised him. Silently Riven looked down at the small girl.

"That's....for my family." She stumbled backwards, and fell to the ground staring at the crimson dagger embedded in Riven's chest. Riven reached
A hand down to grasp the blade, he knew it was pointless, but he tried to pull it out anyway. As he grabbed it the blade started to glow brighter
and brighter turning a deeper crimson until it was as deep as a mortal's blood. White runes slid along the blade, as if dancing at finally being
able to fulfill their purpose. As they moved the symbols changed, turning to every language, and every letter so that all could understand their
meaning. 'REVENGE' the symbols slid down the blade and into Riven's body. He lurched forward, silently gasping, and grasping out at the air. The
absolute power of the words were taking their toll. They were killing riven... Or at least they should have.

Riven slumped forward, hanging their motionless. He made no sounds and no movements. It was as if he was dead. If only he gave up that easily.
"The...only absolute I know, is power.... MY POWER!" Riven stood straight up, his eyes a strange pearlescent as if he was a ghost already. He
gabbed the blade in his chest and ripped it out."I will Win, I will always win. Not even an unstoppable force can take me down, I will grow until
I destroy you all." He let out his laughter again, that off key tone that assured you something had snapped long long ago.

The girl stared up in terror at him. Her tribes words could even change reality if they were strong enough. Nothing should have been able to
survive that... then why was he? The girl stood up slowly, she couldn't let her family's sacrifice be worth nothing."Die...."

Once again Riven stopped laughing, he was as still as stone, before he looked down at her, his head turned at a broken angle. "I'm sorry dear,
did you say something?" He gave a wicked grin and stared right at her.

The girl didn't flinch she stared right at him. "Die... Die.. Die, Die, Die, DIE!" now she was screaming at him, using whatever she had to try
and will her voice into working.

Riven took a step towards her for each word she said. Before he stood directly in front of her. "Not even Death himself could stop me now."

The girl closed her eyes, and screamed as loud as she could, imagining everyone and everything she had lost. "DIE!!!" She stood there not wanting
to see his evil grin again, to see him ignore her words, But something caught her attention. Very faintly she could hear bells. like those on an
old cathedral they started to grow louder and louder, until it was almost deafening. slowly she opened her eyes, to see Riven staring directly back.

The darkness in the room seemed to all pool up behind Riven. Swirling, and spinning, gathering up underneath him. Until, they burst into flames
revealing a tall hooded man holding a wicked scythe. The flames gathered around him, and slid up his body and over to the blade turning a bright
blue. "Riven, your time has come." He spun the scythe over his head, and swung it down, curving it up towards Riven's back, and out the other side.

Riven blinked. What had happened? One second the girl was in front of him, but now all he could see was this blade covered in flames. he watched
as they gathered at the point of the blade. It was exactly like what he had done to that girl, only what he was seeing, was real.

Suddenly he was alone, in a pitch black abyss. He looked around, and saw nothing, no one, only the endless darkness. A blinding light intruded
through the darkness bringing with it foggy clouds that seemed to hold people, and places in them. Riven felt cold inside, he knew what this was.

"Is this some kind of cruel joke? Fate thinks that it can show ME MY life?! ME?!..." Riven fell silent as a particular memory passed him. one he
had long since forgotten, even with the impact it had caused.

It was another one of those nights. Riven cowering in the corner with his sister, the sound of his mother screaming in pain. Every other night,
and every other time they just sat there, holding each other. This time however, something was different. Riven couldn't take it anymore, he
couldn't take hearing those screams anymore. Shoving his sister away from her he ran downstairs towards all of the commotion. When he finally made
it downstairs he stopped in his tracks. Fear gripped his heart as he saw his father beating his mother savagely. He had never been this brutal
before, never made her scream like that before. Something was going to happen to her at this rate, and the terrified Riven. Taking a step back
the floor creaked under him. With a grunt and a quick turn his father dropped the woman and turned to him. "Boy, what do you think you're doing
down here? Do you want another beating like this tramp?"

Riven stared wide at his father. "P-please stop it..." Riven had never spoken back to his father, and for good reason it turned out. Riven was
promptly slapped across the face and sent reeling back. "You want me to stop boy? Then come make me! It's all up to you, since you want to be the
hero go ahead! Try and stop me, but if you don't. I am going to kill her."

Riven could only lay there and watch, he knew he couldn't do anything, and he was to terrified to even try. His father gave a broken off-key laugh.
"Very well boy, just remember this was because you were weak." Riven didn't have time to close his eyes before his mother made her final scream.

And then, he was back in the void. Staring at his cloud like memories as they floated by. The days after that event flew by next. His home up in
flames, His sister crippled, and everyone in the village lying around in pools of blood. His father had been strong enough to do all of that. Then
why didn't he do it before? What was it he wanted? Riven had forgotten why he had wanted power, forgotten the reason he committed those evils.

He remembered the weeks following. When that girl's village came through. They were a nomadic group, and had come to stop for supplies. Not that, that
was an option anymore. The villagers took Riven, and his sister in. They treated them like family, and the young girl was as nice as could be. It
was almost like a second chance, But Riven couldn't see that. He had gotten lost in his own world, in his own heart. He tried to decide what to do,
try to think of what he could do. He thought back to that broken house. The moonlight from the cracked roof shining down on half of him. Tears streamed
down his eyes as he stood over his mother's body. There was nothing he could do, he could only cry. But in the shadows, where the moonlight didn't reach
The boy stared after his father, thinking about those words. 'This was because you were weak'. His answer was there he needed to get power, to become
strong, and one day he would find his father, and kill him. A cloud slowly covered the moon, and made the light fade away. there was no longer any tears,
and the boy turned and walked off.

Riven's days with the villagers shot through the abyss, going past one by one, until they were all gone. In not a single one did he smile. All he did
was try to become stronger, even if it meant letting in the darkness he had found hiding deep inside himself. His sister saw this though. She worried
for her brother, she didn't want him to end up like her father did. She didn't want to be alone. Sneaking off she managed to convince the village chief's
daughter to help her. The girl was going to seal Riven's darkness, then he could live a peaceful life, and finally be happy.

Riven wondered what had been so urgent for him to need to stop training early and rush home. The villager wouldn't or couldn't help him. His sister
said she needed his help, and to run back. So he did, But when he got back he was tackled to the ground, having been training longer then him the girl
easily pinned him to the ground.

"I'm sorry Riven, but it's for the best." Holding onto his arms, she took a deep breath. "Restrain the darkness inside him."

Riven felt cold again. they were going to take away his power, there was nothing he could do. Once again Riven was forced to sit and watch as the world
moved it's own way without him. He couldn't, no wouldn't let this happen again. The world would spin the way he told it to. He screamed in pain as chains
shot out from his skin, and wrapped themselves around his arms.

When the words had finished taking effect she got off of Riven, and turned to his sister. "We should hurry and get him help."

Riven slowly got up, staring at the ground which now had a nice collection of blood under him. "There must be something out there.. anyone, ANYTHING
I will, give you my life, I will give you my soul, just give me the power I need now!" Riven stared at the blood, wishing desperately for something to
happen. Eventually it did. It started with a small flame, the grew and grew until it covered his whole body. Once again he screamed as he burned alive.
But with this pain he felt power, he felt the flames become a part of him. Looking up at the two girls, he didn't see their terror in their faces.
He didn't hear them screaming for someone to help him. All he saw, was two people who tried to take away his power. Letting out a broken laugh the
house burst into flames.

Charred, bleeding, and in unbearable pain, Riven shot out of the building. He wasn't going to kill the girl. He was going to make her feel his pain.
He ran to the village head's house, and burst the door down. Seeing the near dying boy the village head quickly said words of healing to save him,
and asked the young boy what happened. Riven grinned a crooked grin at the ground, before looking up at the old man. "Y-your daughter... S-she destroyed our
house... she killed my sister!" Riven started to force out tears, which wasn't that hard considering he had just been in unimaginable pain. "She used her words to stop me from protecting her, and killed her!" Riven stuck out his arms, to shot off the blood covered chains.

The old man frowned staring at them once the words had taken form, they could never be read or seen until they're fulfillment came. "Very well young one,
wait here I will handle this." With a look of great pain the old man walked outside of the building.

Riven listened to the whole thing, and when it finally ended he waited for the old man to return. So that he could give him his heartfelt 'thanks'.
Riven was going to make sure that no one could ever seal his power again. He let out his broken laugh once more as the flames covered him.

The girl wandered through the burning village. Searching desperately for any sign of life. She wanted to scream for help but she couldn't. Raising
a hand to the heavy collar that was now around her neck, she silently walked on. She came across the burning body of her father, and collapsed alongside it.
she started to cry silently when she noticed movement. The burnt hand slowly slid towards her, until it dropped a crimson dagger in front of her,
before falling lifeless to the ground. She cried for a long time. Riven watched the whole thing. seeing what it had been like through his father's eyes.
the last bit of light in him finally spoke up. "This was because you are weak." With that Riven walked off. The light fading away forever, hoping
that once he killed his father, she would kill him. And so Riven's game of cat and mouse began.

Riven blinked. He was no longer in that void of memories. He was back in that room, staring at the blue flame. He wanted to turn his head, and see who
it was who was behind him, but something stopped him. Riven could still hear the man though.

"We have seen your life, and you have been judged." The man grabbed tighter onto the scythe. The ground split open behind him, splitting into
a flaming cavern. "There will be no salvation for you." The man lifted the scythe over his shoulder, and slammed it down. Throwing Riven down into the depths,
before the hole sealed back up. The man turned to look at the others before disappearing in a cloud of black smoke.
