"Memories In Residence"



Long ago memories fade to eerie shadows;
Two ghostly figures in residence,
Standing sedately behind my mind's crying heart.

Long ago memories fade to wistful whispers;
A veil of sweet breath in residence,
Barely breezing through my short silver tresses.

Long ago memories fade to soft twirling tunes;
Tinkling wind chimes sing in residence,
An essence of romantic favorites once my dance.

Long ago memories fade to low grey clouds;
Illusions of lovers lingering in residence,
A mist of goodbye kisses soak my wrinkled face.
