Interview with my 14 year old self.

I find myself now in present time and I am being interviewed about the choices and goals I had set for my future. I am 50 years old now and the interview begins..

Question 1:~  My 14 year old self asks:~  Am I in good health, decent health or bad health?

(Me:)  You will be in decent health. I do wish I had taken better care of my body.  Diabetes has been a real struggle since 1975.  But as every year passes you'll learn more about what it takes to keep living. It's a life style for sure.

Question 2:~  Do I have any children and how many?

(Me:)  Yes, you have one living son, named Nathan.  Your first son will die a few hours after he is born because his lungs did not developed normally do to the fact that you are Type 1 Diabetic.  I was told that the lungs develop last with diabetic mothers.
It will take eighteen years to get over it, but he is your Angel Baby, Jared.

Question 3:~  Will I be happy and have many family and friends to share my life with?

(Me:)  You will have many nieces and nephews to spoil before your son is born. And later on you will travel all around the USA and witness the beauty of this country you live in from riding in a semi-truck with husband two,  and then with husband three. Who turns out to be the best husband of all.

Question 4:~  Are Chawn and I still best friends?

(Me:)  Funny you should ask. I just returned from Alabama where she has been living for many years.  After high school her family fell apart and her younger siblings moved to Alabama first with their mom.  She had to take care of herself and she did a wonderful job.  Career woman and two sons.  I was there because I made her wedding dress and I was her maid of honor so I also made my dress as well.  It was beautiful.

Question 5:~  What kind of work do I do later on and do I like it?

(Me:)  You will work at many different  jobs.  Only a few will be fun jobs.  Like doing production art, and floral arrangements, to waitressing and security guard to a cashier.  But the best and still currant job is  being a dress and costume designer.  Later on you'll find you have a talent for it.

Question 6:~  Are my parents still alive and healthy?

(Me:)  Your beautiful, wonderful Mother will pass away in 2003 from heart failure.  Dad will remarry a woman nothing like mom, but she's okay.  By 2013 she will die from smoking too much and you and your husband will move in dads home to care for him so he is not alone.
He still gets around on his own some, but he doesn't fish anymore.

Question 7:~  What about my sisters?  Are they still around and do we keep in contact?

(Me:)  Yes, you do.  The  eldest Debra lives in Florida with her kids. Then your second sister Karen will stay in California, but she moves up to the high desert.  And your  third sister Cindy will move to Oklahoma where you have been living since 1986.  You are very close and happy and visit all the time.

Question 8:~  Will I be rich or poor?

(Me:)  Neither, you will be fine financially, getting by but defiantly not poor.  Being rich is only in how much you love others and how much you are loved by them.

Question 9:~  Am I a heavy woman because of my diabetes or am I okay?

(Me:)  No, you are not a heavy woman at all, thank goodness!  But you will stay the same size as when you were twelve years old.

My 14 year old self asks? ~ Why?  What's wrong?

(Me:)  Well it's nothing bad really, it's just that after you turn forty-five years old you will start getting smaller and smaller.  What I mean is, you will begin shrinking slowly the older you get.  You will stay about 110 lbs, and you'll  never grow taller then 5 foot.  Sorry to say but, you won't get any taller.

Question 10:~  Last question:  What is the world like in the time you live in  now?

(Me:)  Well, I'll start off with it's  " Amazing "!  Technology has gone further than I could have ever expected.  Even in my wildest dreams I would have never foreseen all the things that have come to date.  Just the size and shape of televisions, telephones, the World Wide Web aka www.com.  It's called Social media and it has exploded.  The accessibility  in communication with each other is unbelievable.  The world has really changed.  You'll be late in learning all the things one can do nowadays, but you'll love it too.

Thank you for your time.
Sincerely
Your 14 year old self
