It is the start of a chapter set in a fantasy world. A guy want the aid of a magical being
Chris began to question the wisdom of this trip. Going so far for the ultimate bad
news. He stand in the deep dense New Broceliante forest, beside a well. The
well is made of rock hold together by cement and stucco. A small clearance
surround the well. The trees top cover the place, as if protecting the well from
the sky. The light barely penetrate between the leaves, making small dancing
rays.
"It is frustrating. So much travel for a dried up well. When did it happen?" Chris
wanted to cry. The air was still. No breeze in the leafy branches.
"I thought that event was behind me" said Nicolas. "I miss my girl. It had been
five years since that nightmare happened."
"Been that long ago? It is surprising it wasn't in the newspaper" said Chris,
surprised.
"It was stifled. A traumatic moment, to tell the truth" said Nicolas.
"Can I talk to the Domovoi-Dragon ?" said Chris. "I have heard that the one
residing here had great wisdom. He is also the guardian of the well. Maybe he
can help me."
A domovoi-dragon is a protective and friendly dragon. It usually settle in a house
or any area of special significance. They are majestic and wise. Little and
young domovoi-dragon are a rare sight. Sometimes, a domovoi-dragon will ally
itself with a magician.
Nicolas takes a step back. "I don't think it is a good idea." He wasn't at ease
with his friend, right now.
"Come on! They are patient and wise." said Chris.
"My friend, I may be more careful. Micha, the domovoi-dragon is in the well. He
had sealed the well himself. He had done it while in his house in a cave near the
well. No one had disturbed this place in five years" said Nicolas. He put himself
at the end of the small well clearance. Nicolas was ready to run for his life. He
was definitely scared.
"A desperate situation need a desperate measure" said Chris. He put his hands
on the stones wall, around the circle. A soft blue glow is emitted from his hands
to the well's wall. He didn't look in the unlit hole, even if he could. There wasn't
any woody roof on this well. Magic can be powerful on Acteon. The magician
usually call magical power. He channel the power with the mind and with some
words. The magician can direct the magic with his hands.
"Micha, resident domovoi-dragon, I call upon you! Come forth from the grave. I
want to talk with you. Come on now!" shouted Chris. Darkness felt around the
well. It makes the place even darker. A spectral head with long neck emerge
from the well. The head is like an colourless Chinese dragon, with long wiskers,
pointy eyebrows and ears. The eyes are piercing. The giraffe like neck have
pointy white scales. The spectral being kept the rest of his body inside the well.
Even in ghost form, he couldn't pass his whole body in the well's hole.
"Why disturbing me in my eternal sleep? You better have a good reason,
necromancer!" said Micha with his deep out of this world voice.
"I want to use the magic well you are guarding" said Chris, unmoved by being
called a necromancer. He was one after all.
"My body is decomposing, contaminating the well. It stop the magic flow" said
Micha, going eye to eye with the tall slender man.
"I want to have love magic. I have fallen in love. The person doesn't love me in
return" said Chris.
"How strange a necromancer fall in love with a living human. Love magic is a
myth" said Micha. He was calm.
"You deny my request?" said a troubled Chris.
"No, I don't deny your request. I say love magic is tricky. No one can master it."
said Micha, starting to retreating in the well. "It must come from the heart."
"I have done that. I gave all my heart" said Chris. "I fail miserably." He sound
desperate, with a tinge of tears in it.
"I sense your emotions. You want a miracle" said Micha. His head was the only
thing seen above the rim of the well. "I can offer you comfort words, nothing
else."
"If this so, I have to dig for the magic itself!" shouted Chris. His hand began to
glow again.
